the finished results

You can see how clear the type printed and how the gold makes it leap from the page.

The front cover came out perfectly. The quality the gold ink on the red adds is to of a high standard and definitely shouts limited edition. i am really pleased with the results once again.

screen printing the packaging

Now that i have my design sorted for the packaging and the negative printed out i can take it to screen print. After talks with the guys down in the screen printing room at vernon street i booked a slot to print my packaging. i chose to screen print it because i wanted the hand crafted feel towards my design as that would resemble the research i have been undertaking and what the content of the product is. Also because the product is limited edition the screen printing by hand will give each one individuality and exclusivity.

The screen and bed were set up early this morning in preparation for me returning this afternoon.

I am using a really sharp shiny gold metallic ink to screen with, this will give a really nice contrast on the paper and quality to the finished print.

The first test came out really well on the acetate. The gold golding solidly and the fine detail is perfectly legible. Now to try it on the stock i have chosen.

I had to print really quickly between stocks because of the fine nature of the type and the consistency of the ink it dries really fast onto the screen, so to get maximum effect i had to speed up my print process.

The prints came out really well and clear with the gold standing out super bright. It is hard to see on the photograph but it really does shine and add quality. i am really pleased with the results.
